Alright. Unfortunately I had a big reality check today and realised exactly how much I still have to do to get ready for university. Along with this reality check came the realisation that I can’t continue to do a movie review everyday. I will continue to work my way through the list that I was given, but I won’t be finishing it before the end of the summer. I will still do a review for each movie that I watch, and I think I will try to do at least one a week, maybe two. I’ll have to see how it goes.
So the Movie Marathon has officially been put on slow-motion for the time being.

I believe I may have found my favourite movie on this summer list. Before tonight it was Inglorious Basterds, and while Tarantino’s creation was genius, Tommy Boy was just extra special. I like feel-good movies, not all the time, but most of the time and forgive me for saying it, but Inglorious Basterds isn’t really a feel-good movie for me as there’s a little too much hate. Tommy Boy, on the other hand is most definitely a feel-good movie.

This review is a little late as I got home after work today and realised that I had a birthday party to go to and couldn’t watch Animal House when I had planned to. So having just finished Animal House in the wee hours of the morning and knowing that I will have to get up and go to work later on today, I will be keeping this review brief.

I am starting to lose faith in my local Blockbusters. Yesterday after seeing Shaun of the Dead, I decided that I wanted to watch the Naked Gun movies. I had seen that my usual Blockbuster had Naked Gun 33 1/3 the last time I went to pick up movies, but one of the movies I had been hoping to get last time was Office Space, and they didn’t have it at that particular location, but all of the ones on the mountain did. So today before work I decided to drive up to a Blockbuster up on the mountain and get Office Space in addition to all the Naked Gun movies (none of the Blockbuster locations in Hamilton have Hot Shots! Part Deux by the way, I’m still trying to hunt that one down). It was quite an ordeal, let me tell you. First of all, the Blockbuster that I had been planning to go to has been mysteriously (or not so mysteriously) replace by a giant Walmart that was not included in the Google Street View, but I remembered that there had been another location a bit further south on a cross road. However, there was construction and half the street was torn up and I was so busy concentrating that I almost missed my street …. and I turned right instead of left. After reaching my third major intersection and seeing no business plazas I knew something was wrong, so I turned around and went back an finally found the Blockbuster. But what do you know, they don’t have any of the Naked Gun movies. None. I did get my Office Space though, which is what I ended up watching today. But really. Blockbuster needs to get its head on straight and decide which movies it carries and which ones it doesn’t. You can’t go halfway and have some movies at some locations.

I must say that I am very glad I did not decide to watch this right before going to bed. Not because I was scared, but because there was so much adrenaline running through my system that there is no way that I could have slept after watching this movie.

I ran into a bit of a snag today when I went to go rent the next five movies on my list: I could only find two. Hot Shots Part Deux was not one of them. I went up to the desk to ask if they had it, and as it turns out, no Blockbuster in the city of Hamilton carries Hot Shots Part Deux. For rent or for sale. I was quite disappointed but figured that I would go home, Google “movie rentals” and find some other place that had Hot Shots for rent. No such luck. I called about 10 different stores in Hamilton, looking for a copy of Hot Shots and none of them had it. In fact, did you know that they only Rogers Plus store in the whole of Ontario to carry Hot Shots Part Deux is in Ottawa? Yeah. That’s right. So the viewing and review of Hot Shots Part Deux has been delayed until I can actually find a copy of it. Instead, I watched Run Fat Boy Run.
